Plano ISD Technology Services is organized into 8 specialized divisions working together to support students, staff, and campuses with reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions district-wide.

IT Support Services serves as the primary point of contact for all technology-related issues across Plano ISD. Our team of skilled technicians and help desk specialists work to resolve problems quickly so that learning and administrative operations are never disrupted.

From device deployment to day-to-day troubleshooting, the IT Support Services team ensures that every teacher, student, and staff member has access to the technology they need. We support a diverse ecosystem of hardware and software across more than 70 campuses and administrative facilities.

The department maintains a robust help desk system for tracking and resolving support requests, as well as onsite technicians who provide hands-on assistance when remote support isn't enough.

The Information Security department is dedicated to safeguarding Plano ISD's digital assets, student data, and network infrastructure. In an era of increasing cyber threats targeting K-12 school districts, our team takes a proactive, multi-layered approach to security.

We design and enforce security policies, monitor network activity for anomalies, conduct regular vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with state and federal data privacy regulations including FERPA and COPPA. Our engineers design, deploy, and maintain reliable, high-performance systems that support tens of thousands of simultaneous users across more than 70 locations. We manage network switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and the fiber optic connections that link every campus.

The team also oversees server virtualization, storage systems, data backup and recovery, and cloud service integrations that keep critical district applications running continuously with minimal downtime.

Student Information Systems (SIS) manages the platforms and processes that collect, maintain, and report student data across Plano ISD. From enrollment and attendance to grades, transcripts, and state reporting, this team ensures that student information is accurate, secure, and compliant with all applicable regulations.

Our specialists work directly with campus registrars, counselors, and administrators to support the student information system and resolve data issues. The Records Management department oversees the district's records retention, archival processes, and compliance with state records management requirements. The team ensures proper handling, storage, and disposition of physical and digital records across all district departments.

Operating under guidelines set by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and other governing bodies, the Records Management team develops and enforces retention schedules, manages archival storage facilities, and provides guidance to staff on proper records handling practices.
